If this is the beta mail you are using, then click Help at the top of the page, then click Return to Original Mail. If it's the New Mail, click Options on the mail screen, on the drop down click Mail Clic. If it's the New Mail you want, then at the top of the mail screen, click All New Mail. Even the New Mail was beta a few years back, it still doesn't work right.
