Is it OK that a married guy don't want to send kisses to a girl, but he sends hugs instead?

Well, a married guy and a girl has a platonic online relationship called friendship. It happens he always sends her hugs, but when the girl send him kisses he says they are friends so no kisses. It that OK for him to do so?
